Snowy Engagement Session in Bargersville, Indiana | The Goss

There’s something about a fresh snowfall that makes everything feel a little more magical — and this session was exactly that.

This engagement session was extra special to me, as it was for my sister and her soon-to-be husband, Cody. Getting to capture this season of their life in such a personal way made the entire experience even more meaningful.

They wanted something that felt true to them — laid-back, a little artsy, and rooted in real life. Cody grew up in Bargersville, so choosing this location just made sense. It’s a small town filled with charm, local shops, and cozy corners that create the perfect backdrop without feeling overdone.

We started by walking through downtown Bargersville, capturing moments in between the little shops and coffee spots. The snow had just fallen, covering everything in a soft, clean layer that made the entire town feel quiet and peaceful.

From there, we headed to a second location filled with tall evergreen trees, which completely shifted the feel of the session. It felt like stepping into a winter wonderland — snow on the ground, trees surrounding them, and just enough space for them to relax and be themselves.

Some of my favorite moments came from them simply playing in the snow together — laughing, moving, and not overthinking anything. Those are always the moments that end up meaning the most.

Having two different locations gave them a full, well-rounded gallery — a mix of small-town charm and nature-filled, cinematic winter scenes — all without ever having to leave Bargersville.

Sessions like this are a reminder that you don’t have to go far to create something beautiful. Sometimes the most meaningful places are the ones closest to home.
